Volunteer Opportunities

WACF Volunteer Needs

If you are interested in becoming a WACF volunteer, send us an email at info@wacf.com.  Here are some of our volunteer needs –

Trash pickup: If you love outdoor physical work, this is a great way to spend your time.  Picking up trash at WACF properties, along roads and trials.

Trail Workers and Invasive Species Removal: Our stewardship staff will need help out in the field next spring and summer.  If you love outdoor physical work, this is a great way to spend your time.  It could entail everything from spraying exotic plants, a chain saw brigade, planting trees to spreading wood chips.

Scanning: We are in the process of scanning our property documents for digital files.  Scanning work could be 1-2 hours / week.

Skilled carpentry: We will be building a boardwalk at one of our natural areas next summer and need help with carrying materials to the site and building the structure. Willing skilled carpenters are always needed.

Photographers: Photos taken of people at our events, the lakes  in all seasons, and at our natural areas are beneficial for publications.

Phone callers: We try to call and thank our donors personally and need volunteers to help make calls throughout the year. Shifts could be one or two hours.

Annual Meeting Workers: We will need people for various jobs at our Annual meeting in August.  Set-up, food table service, to clean up, let us know if you plan to attend and would like to help!

Set-up and clean-up for Ecology / Educational sessions: ‘Lake Talks and Eats’ on the first Saturday of June, July and August, 2013
