Annual WACF Lakes Celebration
Each year the WACF hosts a mid-summer get-together to socialize, eat and hear a short presentation on what WACF has been working on this past year. Cattail awards will be presented for outstanding environmental service. Brunch will be generously provided by The Channel Marker restaurant, and Bart’s Water Sports will present on-water instruction and demos of Stand Up Paddle Boards. See you there!
Details: Saturday, July 28 at 10:30 AM and will be at the WACF Education Center on S.R. 13
On Wednesday July 11, 18 & 25 from 9 AM to 11 AM we’ll once again offer Wetland Adventures for elementary children (kids need to bring an adult). Activities will include topics related to “Life in a Freshwater Lake”. We’ll do experiments, crafts, and go on a canoe scavenger hunt.
Johnson Bay East Preserve
WACF’s newest acquisition (January 2018) is Johnson Bay East Preserve which neighbors the Johnson Bay wetlands and the B&O Railroad to the north and Johnson Bay wetlands to the west. This special 41 acre preserve once provided the outflow of Dillon Creek into the Johnson Bay/Wawasee wetlands and headwaters.
