In response to many inquiries regarding what seemed to be an abnormal amount of dead fish in Lake Wawasee and Syracuse Lake, WACF Executive Director Heather Harwood contacted DNR Fisheries Biologist Jed Pearson to request information. On June 15, Mr. Pearson issued a news release to the media…read the details.

WACF will continue to work closely with the DNR and will pass along any additional information that we receive.


The second Lake Talk and Eats event of 2017 will be the Annual Bug Catch at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 1st . This has traditionally been our most popular event of the year and the kids love getting wet and catching water bugs! So head to the WACF Education Center (1 mile south of Syracuse on SR 13) and join in the fun. A light breakfast will be served.

Canoe Trips 2017Canoe Trips

Our first canoe trip of the season will be on Friday, June 23. There will be trips on most Friday’s all summer with the last trip on August 18. More info on the trips and how to sign up here…
