Wetland Adventures for Kids


Every Thursday morning in July special programs are offered for kids accompanied by a parent or adult.

Each week’s activities are different…… come once or for all four weeks.

When: Every Thursday morning in July, 9:00 to 11:30 am
FREE and no registration required (unless you are bringing more than 4 children per adult)
Where: WACF Education Center  Ruddell Pavilion (State Road 13, 1 mile south of Syracuse)
What to bring: A life jacket and be prepared for outdoor weather

Adults must be prepared to help children with the activities the entire time and an adult must be in each canoe with the children.

Thursday, July 6 – Activities:  Build a watershed, balloon greenhouse, conifer painting, underwater viewer, canoe scavenger hunt.

Thursday, July 13– Activities:  Wetlands bowl of milk, melting ice caps & sink or float, sun-catchers, pinecone owls, canoe scavenger hunt.

Thursday, July 20 – Activities:  Who dirtied the water, pizza solar oven, rock painting, butterfly feeder, canoe scavenger hunt

Thursday, July 27 – Activities:  Red Cross pillow case, walking water, paint a toad abode, eagle mobile, canoe scavenger hunt

Note:  Activities above may vary depending upon weather
