Education
We Believe Education Is Key
Keeping our watershed clean takes support from all of us, and that’s why the WACF prioritizes educational programming. In 2024, we hosted 2,918 participants in our educational activities with the help of volunteers, who have logged over 1400 hours. From school-age programming focusing on grade-specific standards to family activities, canoe trips, and presentations on threats to our watershed and how to mitigate them, the WACF strives to teach sustainable practices to all age groups in fun, engaging, hands-on activities. Our community members and organizations are excellent partners, and we are grateful for the ongoing Education grants we receive that allow us to reach the public with our message of why clean watershed matters ecologically and economically. See for yourself! There are many ways to learn. Sign up for a canoe trip. Bring your kids and grandkids to one of our many children’s activities during the summer. Volunteer to lead a school-age activity. Please help us maintain our land and trails. Together, we can educate ourselves and our children to be tomorrow’s environmental stewards and ensure they have a healthy watershed to build a wonderful life with family and friends.
