Fishing Derby with DNR at Between the Lakes

Family Fishing Catch‑and‑Release Event with the DNR

We invite families to join us for a relaxed morning of fishing at Between the Lakes. The Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation (WACF) is hosting this event with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at our Between the Lakes location.

This outdoor event gives kids and adults a chance to learn, explore, and spend time together by the water. Staff from the DNR and WACF will help set up poles, bait hooks, identify fish, and answer questions. It’s a great experience for both beginners and young anglers with more experience. All fishing will be catch-and-release to help keep fish populations healthy.

The DNR will have fishing poles available for everyone, but families can also bring their own gear if they prefer. Children must be with an adult, and adults will help with baiting hooks and taking fish off the line.
