Make A Difference, Support WACF

The Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation has a plan for the future, but accomplishing its many important goals requires funding. Threats and challenges to the watershed will change, but they will always exist. Please join us in our efforts to ensure the Wawasee area watershed continues to thrive!

WACF will accept donations in many forms, including cash, stock, land, or gifts in kind. Many donors choose cash and cash equivalents for annual, one-time, or three-year pledges. WACF is a 501(c)3 corporation; all donations are tax-deductible. You will receive an acknowledgment of your donation for IRS purposes.

Ways To Give

Transfer Appreciated Stock

Did your stocks or mutual funds perform well this year?

Have you held them for over a year? If you transfer appreciated securities to the WACF, you can lower or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the amount transferred. You may also be entitled to a federal income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities at the time of transfer.       

Donor Advised Fund

DAFs allow you to receive immediate benefits while giving you time to decide where to donate your funds in the form of a grant. You can offer in cash, stock, or real estate. Since DAFs are considered public charities, you can deduct your gifts as charitable contributions. 

Employee Matching Gifts

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a growing idea in discussion and practice. Some companies will double or even triple your donation to WACF. Check with your employer to see if they participate in such a program.

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are over 70-1/2, you can help us continue our work through a charitable rollover from your IRA. Benefits include avoiding taxes on the transfer of up to 100k from your IRA to the WACF, satisfying your RMD this year, reducing your taxable income even if you don’t itemize your deductions, making a gift that isn’t subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts, and helping us further our mission to protect and preserve our watershed.    

Legacy Gifts

When WACF friends tell us they have made a planned gift to WACF, they automatically become members of the Wawasee Legacy Society. Such gifts have no minimum requirement and can take the form of a bequest through a will or trust; a charitable life income plan, such as a charitable remainder trust; a charitable gift; a gift of property; a gift of life insurance; or a retirement plan asset.
